Are the best remortgage rates life-time trackers?

Lenders best remortgage rates could be in high demand after recent news of both SVR rate and SVR cap increases.

Now the Halifax and RBS have both announced an increase to their SVRs, some may now ask what are the best remortgage rates available and are there better deals on offer?

Before making a switch remember deals at 4 % are historically cheap and neither lender is increasing their SVR above this level. Santander's SVR is 4.24 %, the Skipton charge 4.95 % and Yorkshire building society have a SVR at 4.99 %.

Those of you affected by the RBS and Halifax rate rise, you will be given the opportunity to move to a new mortgage deal without being subject to any early repayment charge.
