More home-owners re mortgage for investment.

Many home-owners are choosing to re mortgage as a means of funding retirement. Many people have seen their investments and savings fail to reach the required levels of return and so are using remortgages as a means to boost retirement funds.

More and more remortgages are used by home-owners as a means to fund a move into the buy to let sector. Market reports show that the buy to let market is booming and producing high returns and so more lenders are helping out those home-owners wanting to become landlords.

Rightmove's Miles Shipside has said that with low yields on most alternative investments 2012 will be a good year for landlords to expand their portfolios. Many home-owners are therefore seeing an opportunity to become a part of the buy to let boom.

With re mortgage deals remaining cheap home-owners are able to release cash to fund a new property by borrowing against equity.

Some caution should however be exercised by home-owners considering a buy to let investment, as there is more to offering a rental property than just putting up a sign to attract tenants.

Those considering taking on a re mortgage for investment purposes, are advised think carefully before making any decision, however in the right situation it can be a wise move.
