BoE due to detail buy to let mortgage stress tests and rule changes.

In just a couple of days the Bank of England has advised that it plans to publish details of 2016 bank stress tests and buy-to-let mortgage underwriting. The date set for the release of this information is March 29, at this time rule changes will become clearer.

Buy to let mortgage regulation is set to get far stricter from April. Products for non-professional landlords will be regulated by the FCA, which means applications will go through the same rigorous affordability checks as residential deals.

When criteria changes come into effect, it will become even more essential to enlist the services of an independent and impartial buy to let mortgage broker, as this will ensure you end up with a competitive deal.
