Remortgage advice through Deal Direct - accurate and impartial but never forced.

Should UK mortgage customers be forced into accepting remortgage advice?

The Mortgage Market Review has put forward proposals saying that it should perhaps be a fundamental requirement that consumers receive mortgage advice whether they want it or not.

We at Deal Direct believe remortgage advice is important for customers switching deals. However while the advice offered to our customers is accurate, impartial and based on the customer circumstances it is never forced.

Paul Broadhead, who is the head of mortgage policy at the Building Societies Association believes that by forcing customers to listen to advice they might become less engaged and less likely to pay attention to what they are being told.

The Financial Services Authority has put forward proposals for a fully advised mortgage market to alleviate any mortgage customer confusion which could arise in the future.

It is debatable as to whether a fully advised scenario which removes an element of choice from mortgage borrowers is what is needed.

We at Deal Deal already offer prospective customers remortgage advice as to which mortgage products are available and which are most suitable for their financial circumstances.  We pride ourselves on ensuring we offer accurate and impartial advice to ensure our customers are always recommended the right mortgage product.
